Consumers have the right to expect certain things when they buy a product or service from us. These rights are protected under consumer law.
In consumer law, these basic rights are called consumer guarantees.

Products and the consumer rights that apply
When buying a service and product, a consumer has the right to expect the following things.
Acceptable quality
A product sold to a consumer must be of acceptable quality.
Acceptable quality means the product:

is safe, durable and free from defects

has an acceptable appearance and finish

does everything that similar products are commonly used for.

Civil Liability Professional Indemnity and Public and Product Liability.
Services and the consumer rights that apply
When buying a service, a consumer has the right to expect the following things.
Due care and skill
Service providers must carry out all services using an acceptable level of care and skill. Their work must be at least as good as what a competent service provider with average skills and experience would provide. They must also take reasonable steps to avoid causing loss or damage when providing the service.
